The Reward of Humanity

The Reward of Humanity || Proverbs 24:4
Rev. Deborah Rozier / The Real Talk of Life
“And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”

During this Lenten season, we are reminded that true riches are not built with money, status, or applause.

According to Proverbs 24:4, it is knowledge that fills the chambers with precious and pleasant riches. This knowledge is not just education—it is wisdom from God, understanding His ways, and living with humanity in our hearts.

The reward of humanity is not found in what we gain, but in what we give. When we operate in love, compassion, integrity, and kindness, we are building chambers within our souls.

Lent is a time to examine what is filling our inner house. Is it bitterness or grace? Is it pride or humility? Is it selfishness or service?

Humanity reflects the heart of Christ. When we show mercy, forgive quickly, help the broken, and speak of life, we are storing treasures that cannot fade. The world may reward power, but God rewards character. The world may celebrate influence, but heaven celebrates obedience.

This season calls us to rebuild wisely — to fill our hearts with God’s knowledge so our lives overflow with precious riches: peace, joy, wisdom, and love. When humanity is guided by divine knowledge, our homes, ministries, and communities are blessed.
True reward is not what is in your hand — it is what is in your heart.

Prayer
Father God, during this Lenten season, fill our chambers with Your knowledge and wisdom. Teach us to walk in true humanity — with love, compassion, and humility. Remove anything in our hearts that does not reflect You. Help us to build wisely and store up treasures that honor Your name. Let our lives be rich in character, rich in mercy, and rich in grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen, Amen and Amen.
