Be Still

Be Still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

The first part of the Psalms reminds us on a daily basis to be still, to just stop each day and be still. I have to tell myself you need to be still, rest, pray and listen to the voice of God. Especially going through trials and tribulations. It is good to remember that God is our refuge and strength and always present to help in times of trouble. God will never leave nor forsake you. It is important, to Be Still and let God do his work.

Psalms 46:10 reminds us that during times of suffering, God is calling us to be still. Even when the children of Israel in Exodus chapter 14, the Egyptian army was about to overtake the children of Israel at the red Sea. God let them know to be still, stop, I will fight for you. And God split the Red Sea, in half. The Israelites were able to make it through. It is good to be still and sit before God in silence and let him do his work. Remember that he is God Almighty and he is in control of everything.

God is good, God is just. He is merciful, all loving, kind and trustworthy. God is all powerful. You can rest in him. God will be exalted among the nations and in the earth. Be still and know that I am God.

In our stillness before God, remember to give God praise, that his purpose in our nation will be accomplished. Remember the model prayer hallowed be thy name in all the earth. As we pray be still and know that God will come through for you. Praying with confidence resting in God to renew our strength and faith in him.

Prayer: I praise you for your grace to be still, and to be reminded that you are God. That you will accomplish your purposes in the earth and the nations. That you are our refuge, our strength and a present help in the time of trouble. You are Sovereign, and in control of everything. Help me to be still, rest in you knowing you will take care of us. Amen
