Rejoice Anyway

Rejoice Anyway  |  I Thessalonians 5:16  |  Sis. Carolyn Satcher

Rejoice always,

Paul calls on believers to rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, and to not quench the Spirit. He also advises them to test everything, holding onto the good and abstaining from every form of evil. Evil begats evil. No matter what situation you are in we should rejoice.

Praying continuously to God can help you to feel worry-free because there are situations beyond man’s control that only God can handle. If you are sick with a disease that the doctors can’t cure, being rejoiceful, can make it easier to deal with. Remember the story of Job who was sick so long and his body had all kinds of ailments. I believe Job still rejoiced because he did not curse the Lord and die as his wife had told him nor did he let his friends change his mind about God.

I believe the Lord will not put on you more than you can bear. When he sees that you can’t take anymore, relief will come. If you quench the spirit, it can cause your faith to become doubtful. Even when others treat you wrong, rejoice always!

Philippians 4:4 Says “rejoice in the Lord always.”
Psalm 33: 21 says, “for our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.” Proverbs 28:2 says, “when righteous men do rejoice there is great glory.”

Prayer: Thank you, dear Lord, for all the things that happen in my life. No matter whether they are good or bad. You never promised that all would be well on earth. I will rejoice always. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
