What A Fellowship

What A Fellowship || John 1:3 || Ayanna Pope
“All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.”
John 1:3 AMP

“Everything came into being through him; nothing came into being without him.”
John 1:3 FBV

I know you started humming, once you saw the title! “What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms; what a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms.”

How blessed are we, that we were created in His image? Nothing we do or think or say has to be without His divine presence! Does it not bring you peace to know that His power, His grace, His protection is accessible? We serve a God who has the design to our hearts, who has considered every step in our path, and He, unconditionally, loves us enough to have made sure we have connection to His Kingdom! We fellowship because He is a part of every fiber of our being.

At my “big” age of thirty-three, it honestly takes a lot of energy to BE! Managing my skin, my gut, my finances, my job, my duties, it all seems like a marathon. Big respect to all you parents, who have other beings to be responsible for. Think about all the components of your day, that you spoil yourself with, trying to cope with all the demands. More junk than nutrition? Hitting snooze one too many times? Procrastinating projects to hang out? Think about all the things you do not allow yourself to go without?

I know I’m guilty of panicking when I do not have my phone or my lip gloss. Everything gets flipped over until I have reunited with the missing items. For as much as I have my phone on DND (do not disturb), limiting people’s access to me, being able to get answers from the internet, take candid pictures, and have GPS navigate my routes are tools I do not want to be without. I hate licking my lips or having to feel that scaly layer that develops from letting them be dry for too long.

Let John 1:3 remind us to have that same space of priority for God. Our being, living, breathing, thriving BEING, exist because of Him. We should be consumed by what God has in store for our day, not allowing those materialistic comforts to weaken our focus on Him. Remembering that all things came into existence through Him. God has to be what we do not start the day without, leave the house without, enter into work without. He, surely, has to come before anything that can fit into our purse or wallet!

Spoil yourself in meditation with our Maker, getting closer to hearing His voice! Spoil yourself with satisfaction in our Savior, understanding His plans for you. Let us flip over our habits, that we think we are hiding, that we think we have on DND, that we think we can handle on our own, into our Father’s hands. Allow His omnipresence to reposition you, during this season of Lent, so that you may be a stronger vessel for Him.
