We Need Increase

We Need Increase || Luke 17:5 || Ayanna Pope
“The apostles said to the Lord, “Help us to have more trust!” Luke 17:5 FBV
“The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith [our ability to confidently trust in God and in His power].” Luke 17:5 AMP

Where do you stand in your faith right now? As the first quarter of the year closes, is your faith wavering with doubt? Is your faith anchored in God’s word? Are you wrestling with your faith, not knowing if you are listening to your inner desires or if you actually hear the instructions of God? Are you making time to grow your faith, in studies and meditation, or are you hoping Sundays are enough to fuel you in the week’s trials?

In full honesty, we all go through cycles of it all. Solid faith, every day, no matter the circumstances, is no easy task. Glory to God, we have the infinite opportunity to ask for what we are in need of from our Heavenly Father, like the apostles!

As the church girl, lover of God that I am, I do get upset with God. I feel less loved some days and I question my path. My faith takes a slight plunge when I find myself betrayed by those I love. My faith takes a hit when a loved one passes. I struggle when I cannot seem to move past things I thought I handed to God. I question if I am being a Christian correctly!

How some days go, how some moods come, I would be the apostle to ask, “Am I in The Count or naaah?” because I’m afraid to “FULLY TRUST & find out”! While I know to pray my way through life’s tests, those are the exact times He is teaching us to trust. Each situation we get to witness Him conquer on our behalf, increases our faith! Knowing what God has brought you through, what He is capable of, helps to mature the mustard seed, increasing our faith.

The apostles have reminded us to be forward with God, asking Him to increase their faith. Let us position ourselves to do the same, asking Him to increase our faith. With an increased faith, we forgive, we release, we grow, we unify, we do His work, we love. With increased faith, we do the ground work, stabilizing another one hundred and twenty-five years of ministry. We do not get to waste time worrying about what He is in control of. He may not answer how you want or right away but allow the faith you do have to wait it out, seek Him, be direct in your prayers, intentional with your behavior and listen for how He wants to move.
