Search Me God

Search Me God  ||  Psalm 139:23-24  ||  Sister Betty Rockmore

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

These verses should be a part of our everyday prayer because the heart is the command center of the soul, the mind, will and affection. From the heart, flows the spring of life. We are asking the lord to point out anything that offends him. Our heart should be Christ’s home, filled with love, peace and joy.

Now, our thoughts are like a library, we will call it the control room. What we read, watch on tv, the music we listen to, all of it gets stored in the library. Paul says in Philippians 4:8 “to fix our thoughts on what is true and honorable and right and pure and lovely and admirable.” Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

We can only do this with the help of the holy spirit (thank you Jesus!). We ae asking the lord to search our hearts and thoughts every day because we belong to him. The times we fail, lord forgive us and direct us back on the right track. We surrender.

Prayer
Wonderful, merciful savior please maintain our hearts and thoughts. Help us to be the people you called us to be. Obedient to your word. Forgiving, loving and kinds. In Jesus’ name amen.

May the lord continue to smile on you.
