God Knows Me

God Knows Me  ||  Psalm 139:1-6  || Rev. Joyce M. Craft

It is good to be known by God. God knows us all. God is omniscient. He is all knowing. He knows everything, he sees everything and he hears everything. God knows us by name, by number and he knows all about us because he created us.

King David in these passages understood that God wasn't distant from him. He understood the sovereignty and the attributes of God. David was not only aware of how God knew him, but David knew God also because of the things God had done for him.

This Psalm is not intended to be an indictment to be good. It expresses great contentment and security in God. God knows me better than I know myself. He knows everything there is to know about me. It is good God knows me because it enables him to do what is best for me. Because of that, I know I can trust God with my life.

God knows what I am going to do even before I do it. He knows my past, present and future. He has me wrapped up in his arms. He protects me from seen and unseen dangers. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses. He knows every hair that is numbered on my head.

I cannot hide anything from God. He knows my thoughts and all my ways. He knows when I am in need. He provides for me and makes a way out of no way when I can't see it. It is comforting to know that God knows me. God is truly amazing.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father Thank you for knowing all about me. Thank you for hearing, seeing and knowing all things. Thank you for being our creator, a loving and Great God. Amen! Asé.
