But Thanks Be To God
But Thanks Be to God
1st Corinthians 15: 50 – 57
Sis. Carolyn Satcher
Thanks be to God that after death here on earth, there will be no more death. The corruptible shall put on incorruption and the mortal shall put on immortality. The sting of death will be no more.
Why did death come into the world? Death came into the world because of the weakness and curiosity of man which caused him to sin. From the beginning God pronounced death. God warned Adam and Eve about death according to Genesis 2: 16-17.
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
The Bible also says in Job 14: 1 Man that is born of a woman is of a few days, and full of trouble. There will be trouble in the world always in some kind of form for us, but thanks be to God, I’m recalling the song that says trouble want last always. We should be thankful that it won’t because God gives us the victory to get through the troubles of this world. Like Mahalia Jackson says, soon I will be done with the troubles of the world we’re going home to live with God.
We must be thankful to God for everything because all power is in his hand. God gives us the victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but we must remember that in order to conquer the second death we must accept Jesus as our Savior.
Thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. We should be thankful to God for He is good because His mercy endures forever. Whatever we do in word or deed we should always give thanks to God. Thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ.
Prayer: Father thank you for this Lenten season. Thank you for being able to tell others about your word and your son Jesus. Thank you for the corruptible bodies that shall be turned into incorruptible bodies that will be with you forever when we leave this earth. Thank you for all that you have done for us. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
