God Will
God Will
Psalm 138:8
Tamika Brown
Have you ever been SO certain of something before? Like, you just knew, without a doubt or question that a thing would happen? No? Me neither.
I have doubts. All the time. Some that make me hesitate before taking the next step and some that make me stop in my tracks and retreat. Sometimes I believe this doubt arises purely because of not wanting to be disappointed.
What if it doesn’t turn out right? What if “they” don’t like it? What if it’s a royal failure? What if “they” don’t like me?
This text reminds us that in God, there is no doubt. God WILL.
God's steadfast love is always present and it guides us along our path to our purpose. God's love wraps itself around us and comforts us in any moment that we need it. In our daily lives, it is this love that must learn to fall into. God's love WILL fulfill, surround, encourage and keep us.
I can imagine God as a parent who sees their child growing, sees all the mistakes made but still celebrates because they keep trying. God is proud of us. Yes, even when we stumble and especially when we go completely off course! We are God's creation, made by God's hand and in that we are perfectly imperfect. So, keep trying, keep falling, keep failing - it means you’re still moving toward your purpose. God WILL continue to admire Gods work!
During this Lenten season and beyond, find peace and hope in this, God WILL fulfill God's purpose for you. Of this one thing, you can be sure.
Prayer: Most gracious God, thank you. Thank you that even as we doubt, your love for us and pride in us continues to nudge us toward our purpose. We pray God that you continue to direct our path, strengthen us in moments of weakness and guide us toward greater knowledge of you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
