When God Speaks
When God Speaks
Job 37: 1-10
McKenzie Sullivan
From the moment you come out of the womb, you are brought into this beautiful thing called life. Within this life, you are bound for the inevitable highs and lows and dos and don'ts. It is customary for people to go through things that shape them into their being, bringing out parts of themselves they may have not known of.
What happens when there are more lows than highs? Do we sulk in the moment or persevere? Do we question whether God is out to get us or know that there's a rainbow at the end of the storm?
God is a man of mysterious ways, even in the worst moments. To be honest, there have been moments I have questioned my importance to God, myself. I am human, it happens unconsciously. I ask questions like, “What does he see me as? Why does he give me these battles I’m not strong enough to fight?”
But in the same breath, I look to God to get me out of these situations and lead me through the storm. The saying goes, “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.” God would never put you in a position, hoping for defeat. You, yourself shouldn’t be complacent with failure. In these moments, looking to God should be your first step and I promise everything else will fall into place.
In this scripture, we see Job, a man who has lost a lot, still looking to God for comfort. He believes that every storm and wave will be washed away the moment God wants it to be. This is a scripture to look to when you feel like things may not be going the way you want. The same way Job continued to look to God, you should too. He would never put you in a situation, he didn’t feel you could get out of. So don't count him out in the midst of your troubles. Let him be that light in your darkness and everything will work itself out.
Prayer:
Lord, I ask that you bless every part of this being. Allow them to know that you forever have their best interest. Guide them down a path that leads to success. I ask that you instill a light in them that will deepen their faith in you, put their trust in you, and allow you to do the work that you are set out to do. Know that God has you in every situation and every battle. For the love of God we pray, Amen
