God Over Everything

God Over Everything
Acts 5:27-32
Sis. Carolyn J. Satcher

Did you know that God is over everything? The bible perfectly states “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and all that is within it, including man himself whom He created.”

When the floods began in Genesis, God caused the water to spread all over the earth and destroy all of mankind, except for Noah and his family who obeyed the call from God. God allows man to be born of a woman and determines the day of his death. If we were in control of life as to when we might die, we probably would never die because life can be good but the bible says “to dust we came from, to dust we shall return”. He even knows the number of hairs on our head. How many men can count the hairs on their head? A difficult task, I’m sure!
God knows our thoughts. There’s nothing we can hide from him. Even though Satan thinks he owns the world, Jesus proved to him that he was God in the flesh as a man and that he was in control of the world.

In Acts 5th chapter, Peter and the other apostles did not allow the council and the high priests to stop them from obeying God who is over everything. When the high priest questioned Peter, saying, “Did not we straightly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us?” Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

God is the author and finisher of our faith. God is the one who wakes us up in the morning, gives us shelter, clothing, and jobs to provide for ourselves. Therefore, God is over everything. No man is capable to be over everything, no matter how powerful he thinks he is, not even former President Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin or Elon Musk. God is over everything.

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for being God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We thank you for creating us and all that is within the earth. All power is in your hand and you are our everything. Amen.
